Sherman's Shop is a game for Palm OS that I'm working on. It's like a cross between 80s arcade game "Tapper" and SimCity, where you have to serve customers products but also manipulate sales to prevent any one manufacturer from dominating the market. I'm hoping to get a shipping company like UPS, DHL, or FedEx to sponsor the game as a playable advertisement.

Here's the "back of the box" copy I've written for Sherman's Shop, and an early screenshot:

Widgets - they're new! They're the greatest! Everybody wants one - everybody needs one! Widgets are so important, in fact, we've started the calendar over again - it's now Year 1 Anno Widgetus. And you are the sole widget retailer in Pocket Town.

Due to a patent oversight, there are no legal protections for widgets - and there's stiff competition. The widget manufacturers are at your beck and call. Push one brand, and they might give you a nice kickback. Give another more floor space, and they might guarantee same-day shipments to your store.

Keep tabs on ad campaigns and product reviews so you'll know what to stock before the crowds arrive. But keep up with the stock reports too - if too many manufacturers fail, the remaining few can raise wholesale prices and make your margins start to look grim!
